Our History

Archipelago Philippine Ferries Corporation (APFC) was founded to provide a vital maritime link between the Philippines’ 7641 plus islands. Since its incorporation in 2003, it has become a trusted shipping company that owns and operates the Philippines’ first and only catamaran Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) ferries nationwide under the flagship brand of FastCat.

With its focus on ensuring its passengers’ safety, welfare and comfort, APFC embarked on an ambitious re-fleeting program in 2010 and collaborated with international ship designers and builders for this endeavor. This partnership brings to the Philippines, brand-new and modern RoRo vessels, fitted with world-class amenities and fully compliant with international safety standards.

In support of the government’s Strong Republic Nautical Highway Project and to facilitate the efficient movement of people and goods, FastCat offers safe, fast and convenient ferry service to the islands using state-of-the-art RoRo vessels designed specifically for Philippine sea conditions.

This new-ferry initiative is in keeping with APFC’s resolve to raise the bar in maritime safety in the Philippines and set an example to fellow RoRo operators, improving not only the ferry industry in general, but also enhancing the comfort and convenience of passengers when traveling.

Additionally, the company also continues its drive to help boost local businesses and tourism, to uplift the lives of the Filipinos and contribute to the overall economic development of the country.

To serve the islands of the Philippines and its neighbouring countries, it aims to have a fleet of 30 vessels by 2030. The routes of FastCat are as follows:
